Cally Lays Down the Law

Addy returned to school this morning. I hate leaving either of the girls at the childwatch (I feel even more guilty about leaving Cally on her own there) but some days it is the only way I can get a work out in. I did my 5 miles and hurried to free Cally from the room filled with toys and children her age. Cally of course told me she did not have any fun.

In the car I asked her more about why she did not have any fun. Her misery came from being put in 'baby jail' by a couple of girls at child watch. When I asked Cally what they looked like she described one girl as having 'tangly' hair (which in Cally's world only happens if you don't listen to your mom and get ready when you are supposed to). I told her that next time she should tell the girls that she doesn't want to go in baby jail (I am assuming this was the pack and play but I don't know how she would get in there on her own, maybe it was just a jail under a table?). Cally said that she did tell them, 'no, thank you!' but that they didn't listen. My mommy response to that was that she should tell her 'teachers' there. Cally said she tried that too! They couldn't understand her, which is certainly frustrating for Cally or anyone wanting help from an adult.

I told her that I would speak to the teachers about it next time (tomorrow) but that she should just NOT go into the baby jail. She very quickly told me that, "no, next time she is NOT going to the gym." Problem solved for Cally! ;)

Meet Sue!

Sue was in town so we took the girls to meet her. David and I met her previously at her home in Chicago. The girls were thrilled to meet her!

More bugs!

We continued with our bug theme and checked out our local children's museum's new bug exhibit

Long time, no blog...

Yikes! We have had a very busy month. I'll get into a groove once all of the school year activities get going. But for now, I am going to try to catch up!
First, Addy had zoo camp. She loved it and made friends with a girl just as bug crazy as Addy. Cally and I spent our time trying to break as many zoo rules and policies as possible. ;)
