When babies grow up!

Our sweet baby Cally Bear is officially a Big Girl!! She is a brand new two year old and is ready to take on the world! David and I could not be more in love with her or more proud of her.

We celebrated her birthday a day early (David has to work today). The highlight of the afternoon was playtime at Chuck E Cheese's! In the evening, Cally enjoyed one of her favorite dinners (homemade chicken noodle soup) and cake. Oh and we also opened presents but really, what two year old gets excited about that? ;)

Cally was not really sure what to expect but she thought it must be good!

Yay! We all love Addy's original art!

What! A Dora backpack!! Cally is crazy about backpacks and Dora so this was an amazing gift for Cally.

Dora dolls! Cally slept with her Dora figurines last night.

A Dora house!

This gift was a huge hit with both Addy and Cally. I love to see them play happily together. :)

Being two is pretty fabulous for Cally!

Good Job Fish Mommy!

Welcome to the world Baby Fish! I thought one of our balloon belly Molly's was acting weird and I really did not think she would be alive this morning. After feeding the fish in the morning, I did a little fish accounting and ended up with one too many! I am still surprised that we have a baby fish! We only have a small 10 gallon aquarium and do not have any sort of breeding area set up.

I left the pictures so that you can left click them and make them bigger. Also for a little perspective the snail in the picture is about the size of a quarter.

Family photos!

Molly is talented and kind enough to sew the girls baby doll clothes! The clothes were cause for much fun and all the outfits worked wonderfully!

Addy is posing with her babies.

Cally was persuaded to join in for a family photo. Addy's original goal was for Cally to bring her babies over and Addy would pose with all of them, Cally would not have anything of the sort though!

My new love!

Happy Birthday to me!!! While spending the day with Molly (it was actually her birthday!), I stumbled upon my new favorite sewing machine!

Here she is, all wrapped up in her new cover! The cover is the first project I made with her. :)

Please welcome my vintage, made in Italy, Necchi Lelia 512! She straight stitches beautifully and can zig zag like a new machine. Her only less than stellar function right now is winding bobbins. But she can still get the job done, so no real problem.

A big thank you to Molly for helping me rescue her from the Salvation Army! :)

KC visit

A few days ago, David and I took the girls on a surprise trip to Kansas City. The big surprise was a stay at the Great Wolf Lodge. We also threw in lunch at the T-Rex Cafe.

I think part of the T-Rex charm is providing all their guests with an hour wait. This hour wait allows an abundance of time to browse their large gift shop. We used the time to let the girls explore the geological-accurate cave display. Minerals do just lay around in caves right?

To the left of this picture is a big sign that says, please do not climb on the rocks. I guess Addy and Cally need to practice their reading skills.

Digging up fossils is fantastic fun!

Addy couldn't wait to add the dino bones to her collection.

Here Cally is demonstrating what she thinks about being confined to a table and waiting for food. I would say she was screaming mad about it!

The morning we left Kansas City, we visited Cabelas. The girls loved the displays and aquariums.

(Almost) Spring at the Zoo!

Addy was in charge of the map and did a pretty job of telling us where we should go! ;)

Cally could not have been happier at the jungle.

Addy's favorite attraction is still the aquarium.

I love this picture, Cally is happily marching away from us.

An adventure with GG!

The girls and I went adventuring to California (Addy pronounces it much like the historic governator) to visit our beloved Grandma/great-grandma! We had an amazing time and can't wait until we can spend more time together! Thank you Grandma and Grandpa for a wonderful visit!!

Addy and Grandma made chocolate butterscotch chip cookies with pecans fresh from Texas! Yummy!

The girls (especially Addy) could not resist young golfing Richard. Addy thought it was fabulous to pose toys on him. I might have fed into that obsession by snapping this picture....

Cally could not keep her tiny toes out of Grandma's shoes!

Addy said the day we visited Chuck E Cheese was the best day ever! In fact, David and I have spent many, many hours (ok, maybe it just feels like hours) hearing about all the fun things Chuck E Cheese has. Addy loved absolutely everything about our lunch and play time there. Cally also had a blast, although she was not a fan of the adult-sized mouse that wandered around attacking (hugging) kids.

Here, Cally is desperately trying to not make eye contact with the mouse next to her.

Addy enjoyed her drive with the mouse!

I love this photo because not only can you see Addy's hoard of tickets in her pockets, but she is also enjoying a much begged for treat.

Our only vacation fail was that we did not get a group shot. I guess we were too busy having fun to even think of posing for a more formal shot. Addy took this photo when we walked to the mail box and I guess it will do until our next visit!
