Mr. Claus!

We visited Santa down at our local fire station this year! He was a jolly fellow and played along well with the girls.

Addy asked Santa for a backyard outfit (really a backyard explorer outfit) and Cally asked for a ballerina. We will see what Santa brings!

Sisters = forever friends

Cally took offense to Addy.

But in the end all was well...

How is it possible??

How is it possible that my holiday cactus is blooming and Addy and Cally were able to play outdoors with light jackets?? We had an amazing day of weather yesterday!

Give me that camera!

"Why can't I have your camera?!"

"Please!! When will you forget the 3 cameras I broke this year?"

"Fine, I asked nicely, but now I will make you give it to me!"

"It was only a matter of time, Mom!" In  my defense, Cally grabbed the camera when I was in the bathroom...

So Cute!

Cally and I attended our second MOPs meet up in our new neck of the woods. I was happily surprised to to see Cally and the rest of the little Moppets coming into the fellowship hall to perform a little concert for us. Seeing Cally walk in with the rest of the Moppets while clutching her little bag of treats was just the sweetest thing ever! Cally was following along the crowd of kids and I could tell that she wasn't really sure what was going on, but none the less, she was going with the flow of it. I was so proud! When Cally looked around and saw me waving at her, she happily waved back and blew kisses. The Moppets sang about four songs and they really did a great job. Cally had such a great time at MOPs that the only negative thing she said was, 'the snack was yucky!'

Addy and Daddy's big day out!

Originally, we planned to have a family day out after Addy's early dismissal on Friday, but Cally's stomach had other plans. Poor Cally was pretty sick and I had the laundry to prove it, so Cally and I stayed home and watched movies and napped. Addy and David had fun at the Bass Pro Shop, loved the movie Arthur (the Christmas one, not sure of the real title) and had a great little dinner together. I guess the Bass Pro Shop was such a hit that Addy said it was better than the zoo, which is very high praise from my zoo-loving Addy!

One thing I will definitely not try again!

Cake balls taste so yummy and everyone claims they are SO easy, but I found out nothing is ever that easy... Things started out well, the girls love a baking project.

My cake balls were lumpy, mishaped and relatively yummy. Better luck next time, I guess...

Dance Camp!

Cally once again had to wait in the high school gym to watch Addy. She did a great job and even had fun!

The girls did a great job. Addy danced with other kindergartners and first graders.

I think Addy's favorite part of dance camp was getting to drink Kool-Aid and getting a glow in the dark shirt!

Our house guest!

We are hosting a very observant elf, named Glitter, this holiday season. Addy first heard of such visitors at school where her classroom is hosting an elf, Buddy. Glitter surprised Addy last Friday night. Addy had a long day, she had school and then from 1 pm until 7 in the evening she had dance camp. The high school dance team offers the camp once a year and it was a lot of fun to watch the kids perform at half time during the basketball game. Addy did say that there came a time during the camp that she was ready to go home! It was a long day, but it was successful! Glitter stole the show once we got home! Addy takes Glitter very seriously and has made him a card and talks to him all the time. She tells Glitter little helpful hints and makes sure Glitter knows if Cally has wronged her. Cally doesn't take Glitter as seriously as Addy does, but she enjoys finding him every morning.

Our First Elementrary Christmas Concert!

Pretty girl! Addy was nervous about the concert, but she did great and had a great time!

We got to the HS gym pretty much when the doors opened and we still had not great seats, but at least we had seats!

The concert started at 7:30, which is normally bedtime, so we had to do a little Cally cuddling to get through the show.

The kindergarteners, first and second graders performed together. They sang four songs, all complete with adorable hand motions.

I love that Addy is shooting peace signs here! Peace, baby!

Yep, another straight from the 70's dance! :)

Daddy's little girl! <3

Outnumbered??

Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow!!

Last Saturday, we had a wonderful snow day! The girls and David geared up and had a blast playing in the white fluffy stuff! I carefully watched from the day. Somehow, I do not have any snow gear! Addy and Cally have played outside pretty much daily in the snow, Addy even gets to have outdoor recess and snow time (as long as they have their snow gear) at her school recesses. Cally has this fantastic little snow show, she does a quick hop, lands and then throws her body backwards into any snow pile. I think Addy and I had her do it a dozen times in a row before we stopped laughing, it is hilarious. Poor Cally is still at the age where her snow gear wears her, she just kind of slowly waddles along. David got his snow blower out and played a little bit with that. Addy made a snow penguin and left out carrots to feed the bunnies.

Meet Frog!

I am not sure if our new family member can build words like other frogs named Frog, but Addy loves him regardless!

Cally is itching to get her hands on Frog too, I am just happy that Frog really seems to like being handled by Addy!

Miranda was kind enough to gift Addy her white tree frog and his large home! We gave away Addy's fish during our move so it was good timing to let Addy start practicing her future profession, frog catcher. My main rule is that Frog must stay in his home. So far, (to my knowledge!) the rule has only been broken once...

Farmtastic!

Ollie's love of all things farming is pretty impressive! Uncle Cole and Ollie were generous enough to share this love with Addy and Cally. The weather turned pretty cold that morning but the kids still had a blast! Addy came back with a small container of feed corn, just in case we get pigs too!

Birthday Celebration!!

Miranda and her adorable birthday girl, Elsie!! Elsie was a fantastic birthday girl! I don't know that I have ever been to a first birthday party where the celebrant did not have a meltdown, Elsie loved every moment of her party! The girls and I were so happy to be there!

Cake!!

Family Fun at the Farm!

Aunt Molly and the youngest cousins!

The weather was fantastic and the kids spent the majority of the day outside. Addy found a caterpillar, which is still in our care and Cally loved sliding on the new play set!

These two adorable cats let Addy carry them around all day. Addy was in heaven!

Addy thought sliding down the banister was a tremendous amount of fun too!

Cally was very patient when Addy was playing hairstylist! I hope Miranda's basket recovered from being used as the chair...

Yummy!

Cally and Addy are showing off my pipe cleaner artistry skills!
