Cally's two month check up

Cally had her two month check up today (if you weren't clued into that from the title!). Cally weighed in at a hefty 12 pounds, 6 ounces and measured 23.5 inches long. She is in the 90th%ile for both height and weight. Some of you may know that Cally has a milk protein intolerance, which basically means that her digestive system cannot digest milk protein currently. 10% of babies born in Ne have this and it is something she is expected to outgrow. Today we had more confirmation that she also has a soy protein intolerance. Because I am breastfeeding this has meant that I also have to cut soy out of my diet as well as the dairy I have already eliminated. I am going on one month of no dairy products at all and am a little daunted at the need to cut out soy as well. Oh, and also no acids, so no citrus or tomato! My motivation for making all of these diet changes is that Cally will be the happy baby she is when she is not screaming at me!

All in all, Cally had a good check up and is growing well and meeting all the milestones she is meant to.

Here is Cally in her adorable Fuzzi Bunz diapers. Cally is the second Musserton to get good use out of them. :)

Addy was really a happy helper today, well at the Dr.'s office at least. ;) Oh and for those of you who notice these things, Addy did not bring a train with her! Well, she did have a Thomas the Train bandage on so maybe that was enough for her?

Thomas Live!

Addy had the thrill of her young life this past weekend when David took her to see Thomas Live. David and Addy went with a fellow Thomas the Tank Engine admirer and his family. Addy had a great time leading Josh around, she has really come out of her shell. It was so cute to hear Addy so exited about making a new friend.

My girls

Time flies by, one day Addy comes up to my waist, the next day Addy is up to my chest.

Fist bump mama!

Seriously, how did she grow up so fast? And who made her so cute?

Sister love and new shoes

For some reason blogger insists on displaying this picture sideways, but Cally is ready to fight over it.

The best garden ever!

We needed a change in our usual family outings so we decided to think outside of the zoo and made our way to a local botanical garden. It was a nice day and I figured a walk through 100 acres of gardens would be a relaxing way to spend it. Addy was thrilled that there were fish ponds and even a train garden. You have to see the train garden to believe it, it is just that cool.

Oh and in case you notice in the pictures, David had minor surgery on one of his fingers to repair a break. As we told Addy, that is what happens when you don't listen the first time. ;)

Henry approved of the flowers as well

Addy contemplated life's mysteries while we were on the tram

David is in trouble!

I am not sure David will have the mettle to tell his little girls NO! Especially because both of our girls have his smile.:)

ZOO!

The title says it all.

Addy feeding the wildlife

Addy trying to capture the wildlife

Cally showing an early interest in the wildlife

Addy is quite the sand castle builder, watch out Bob!

Looks like the guilty culprit is caught on film!

Addy was thrilled to feed the goats. :)

Watch out for the Angry Red Pandas!

Happy Mother's Day!

I am really quite blessed to be able to stay home with Addy and Cally. Just this week, while I was changing the bedding in Cally's crib (yes, I lead a glamorous life!) Addy told me that Cally is her best friend ever. I had no idea that Addy even knew the expression best friend. Most days Addy wishes me a Happy Birthday almost hourly, but today I got to hear Happy Mother's Day most of the day.:)
So to all of the moms out there, Happy Mother's Day! I hope you all had a day as special as mine. :)

Sisters

Addy at about 6.5 weeks.

Cally at 6.5 weeks.

Tummy time for two!

Future scholar?

I was explaining to Cally how Darcy shaped the field of hydrogeology and was quite encouraged by her initial interest in a subject dear to my heart.

Not wanting to leave her thirst for knowledge unquenched I even used a dry erase board to elaborate on Darcy's Law.

To my dismay this is what I returned to when I finished my mini-lecture.

As it turns out Cally might not follow in my steps. Maybe David will have better luck explaining nuclear power?
