I did a 1 mile fun run with Addy and one of her favorite friends earlier this month. It was great fun and we were able to run with a couple other classmates and their moms. Addy did great, she almost ran the whole time. She still struggles with finishing strong but given that she is not even 6.5 years old now I will give her four gold stars for humoring her nutty mom! :)

An Early Christmas Gift!
Addy and Cally modeling the new jammies from Grandma
I can't imagine why Grandma thought the girls needed to open new jammies before Christmas? I mean the girls' jammies look fab, right?! ;)

The 12 Days of Christmas!
The girls were glowing with readiness for the church Christmas program last night! They both did an awesome job, I was so proud of them both! Addy said it was very hard to stand for soo long but that she had fun. You can see some of the girls' Christmas craft/decorations. Addy has taken to decorating the house with her handmade crafts for every occasion. :)

Cally and a Buddy
Cally has the sweetest friends in her preschool class. I love how happy and comfortable she is in her preschool program. I don't think we could have asked for a better fit for our Bear.
'Tis the Season!
Addy's first Christmas wrapping job of the season. She did it all by herself and made sure to pose in a way that would maximize our viewing pleasure of her new earrings. :)
A Piercing to Remember!
Addy has know joined the ranks of the pierced earlobes! I never wanted the girls to get their ears pierced young so I always made sure that Addy knew that getting your ears pierced was not a fun activity. I figured if she thought it would hurt a lot she would only want it done when she was really ready for it. Well, one day Addy decided she was ready for it!
It is hard to tell in the picture because the purple spot the piercer drew on her earlobe is still there but Addy selected her birthstone for her first pair of earrings. Addy was definitely nervous in the chair waiting for the whole procedure but she was very brave. She LOVES showing everyone and anyone her new earrings. I was in her classroom helping with reading and when it was her group's turn at my station, she asked her group, "Is there anyone here who hasn't seen my earrings yet?!" I laughingly told her that I bet everyone has seen them by now and she very seriously told me that she thinks there are kids in the other class who have not seen them yet. ;)

The Future
Over the last few days, Addy and Cally have both been talking about what they want to be when they grow up. Cally says that she wants to be a mommy and have a baby. She is not sure how old she will be but so far she has figured out that 7 is not old enough.
Addy on the other hand starts crying at the thought of having to have a baby. I have always been really honest with Addy about where babies come from and Addy is not at all interested in pushing a baby out. She is truly afraid that a baby will just pop into her belly and she will have to push it out. I think Addy is at the age where she is giving a lot of thought to all she is learning about the birth of Jesus.
Addy knows that she wants to always live at home with me though. She says I can teach her all about rocks and we can be geologists together when we are not relaxing. Life is so straight forward at not quite 6 and a half!

Better Late than Never....
Here are a few pictures from a Thanksgiving weekend photo shoot with the cousins. It was so much fun to see all the kids playing so well together. :)

| I thought it would be cute to try for a jumping action pose. The younger kids were too little to get a good air shot but everyone liked trying! :) |
Ornament Exchange
The girls and I attended an ornament exchange at our church. I was so happy with how well both girls did choosing ornaments. Addy took charge of our shopping trip and decided that we should all pick an ornament about God. At the exchange the girls each spoke a one-word line (Cally said gold and Addy said frankincense) in a dialogue about the birth of Jesus.
It was a lot of fun to see who ended up with our ornament and to watch their faces as they opened them. Oh and it is a "women's" event and neither Addy or Cally could wrap their mind around that.
