Rodeo fun

We were able to attend a local rodeo that is held annually and always has fun rides for the kids. Our little Addy was only interested in bouncing.

It is no secret where little Cally gets her ears.

Cally was only interested in sleeping.

We didn't get to see much of the rodeo because of these clouds. Oh well, maybe next year. We had a great time though and really enjoyed spending time with friends we met there. :)

Random moments

This picture is typical Addy. She makes sure her lizards are just as comfortable and well-cared for as her baby doll is.

Addy is super proud of her ability to do real jigsaw puzzles now. It is obviously a team effort, but I love seeing Addy figure things like this out. She is so in love with this birthday gift.

This poor lizard is missing claws due to Addy's and Jiffy's attention.

Four months old!

Our sweet Cally Bear is four months old now! Cally loves to hang out in the living room sharing secrets with Addy.

Cally also enjoys watching Addy practice hang gliding.

Cally also loves to laugh time away.

Family portraits

Here are a few fun photos from Addy's birthday. My family was able to come out and help us celebrate with Addy so we took the opportunity to get all the cousins together and take pictures until they cried. :) The cousins range in age from 11 years to not quite four months so it was a pretty fun experience. We had a great time and feel incredibly lucky to have such wonderful family. Addy had a blast!

Addy's big day!

Addy has a birthday coming up and to help her celebrate David and I bought her a "sand and water table". If you have or know any toddlers you know that these are hot commodities. Many hours can be passed building a sand castle and flooding it out over and over again. Just a warning for any of you who may be invited over to play with the sand and water table, Addy likes to house her bug and worm collection in the sand houses!

I really like worms and snakes!

Addy has entered a new phase, she is obsessed with hunting for snakes and worms. I hear about snakes and worms all day and we often spend quite a bit of our time on the search for them. I even have started dreaming about them! It is pretty cute and takes me back to when Miranda and I used to babysit worms and snails. I do kind of worry about how Addy will turn out. I somehow managed to become normal and move onwards and upwards to the study of rocks, but Miranda definitely galloped down the weird-o path and studied insects in school. Lets hope Addy straightens up! ;)

Addy has graciously agreed to share a primer in worm hunting with the masses. First step is to dig a hole. Addy claims baby worms will swarm the hole.

The second step is to listen for the baby worms. If you don't hear any you need to choose a new spot for your hole.

The third step is to patiently wait for the baby worms to flock to the hole.

Be prepared for a long wait, baby worms are slow!

Cally was not prepared for such a long wait though.

Fort Robinson, part 3

Our last full day at Fort Rob was spent riding a hay rack ride tour, flying a kite and swimming. We took it a little easier than the day before and really enjoyed ourselves.

Cally waiting patiently for the ride.

Addy, David and Stanley posing for a group shot.

Cally grew tired of waiting and snuck in her morning nap.

Belgium Draft horses for mom!

The hay rack ride.

Kite flying 101, taught by David.

It worked!

Fort Robinson, part 2

Our second day at Fort Robinson was pretty busy. Luckily we had a very calm morning and both girls were in great spirits.
Addy and Cally bonding

Sweet Caroline

We visited Toadstool Geologic Park before lunch. I think David wanted to test my knowledge to make sure I am still employable outside of the home. ;)
For some reason Addy was not a fan of the geological wonders, she is more into worms these days.

I made sure to dress in my geologist gear.

We also went on an open-air Jeep ride, where we saw beautiful scenery

We also saw Elk and Big Horn Sheep, (look closely)

For dinner we went on a chuck wagon ride. The idea is that you ride down to a pretty location, eat dinner around a fire and sing songs for a couple of hours.

We signed up for the extreme version, our evening consisted of super strong winds, lightning and thunder and of course lots and lots of rain.

Addy had a great time anyway dancing the night away.

The dinner was a buffalo stew served with corn bread. I couldn't eat it so I had eaten before the Chuck wagon ride and dinner. Cally was fussing during most of the meal portion (it was freezing and the storm was super loud) so I spent most of it bouncing with her while Addy ate with David. A very kind woman came over to me and offered to help me, she was very concerned that my mean hubby was not helping me at all and thought I must be starving. Poor David, he about died. I did tell the nice woman the truth, that I was not able to eat the meal, but sometimes I do enjoy telling people that David thinks I need to lose weight and won't let me eat. ;)
