Story time!

Well, story time was definitely a mixed bag with Cally. She started out swell, but quickly melted down to screaming tantrums. Books and magazines look much nicer on the floor than on all those fussy shelves. I hope Miss Carrie (who shares a first name with Cally) will let us back next week!

Cheese! So far, so good. :)

Cally even raised her hand to answer a question. I probably don't need to tell anyone that her answer was, no!

I try to ignore any tantrums so there will be no fit pictures. If you are interested in seeing a fit in person I am sure Cally will be happy to oblige. :)

Pinkalicious!!!

This year we decided both girls were old enough to enjoy a family membership to a local children's theater. The first show this season was a play based on the children's book, Pinkalicious. Cute, to say the least. We all enjoyed the play, the theater is absolutely beautiful and Cally did not have to use the 'crying room' (although it was close for a second or two!)!. We are looking forward to the next production!

Addy and Cally posing for pictures before we left.

Waiting in line for the doors to open. The family in front of us also had a daughter called Addy (short for Addison though).

Omaha Nighthawks!!

David and I voyaged to Omaha to see the inaugural game for the Omaha Nighthawks! Many are probably wondering what an Omaha Nighthawk might be. So for those of you, Omaha is an expansion franchise for the UFL (not the NFL but not Arena football so take it for what it is!). Of course football is huge in Nebraska, especially on a fall day when the Huskers are not playing. I probably don't even have to say it, but the crowd went insane when Ahman Green and Jeff Garcia were announced. David's favorite part was the half-time performance by Nelly! ;)

A moment of Cally's day....

As Addy loves to tell everyone, now Cally can run really fast!

Cally loves bouncing on the zebra.

Too cool for school!

This is how Cally enjoys her morning snack while Addy is at preschool. Cally loves raspberries and her shades. Why not enjoy them together?
BTW, Cally is a year and a half old today!!! She has started sleeping through the night (well with only limited help from mom and dad!) and can now eat small servings of baked dairy and a few bites of cheese every now and then. Right now Cally says she is most focused on mastering the front door lock so she can go as she pleases. ;)

Fall at the children's zoo!

The girls and I spent an afternoon at our favorite children's zoo earlier this week. We had an amazingly relaxing time! Cally is getting SO good at staying with us and listening! Both girls loved feeding the goats and checking out all the other animals. Addy was most looking forward to riding Butch-the big white pony. You might notice that Addy didn't actually get to ride Butch, it turned out to be his day off. Luckily she was just as excited to try out a new ride.

S'more-tacular!!

There is no getting around the fact that s'mores are delicious!

Fall at the orchard!

Once again we made the short drive to our favorite apple orchard for a hay rack ride and tour of the farm. The girls and I were there a couple of weeks ago to pick peaches and raspberries so we were very eager to get our hands on the apples this time!

The girls posing in front of the apple barn.

Addy asked how you can tell when an apple is ready to be picked.

Fall soccer!

No one was more excited for soccer to start this fall than Cally! Addy was happy about it too, but Cally was thrilled. ;) Cally loves soccer and well, Addy loves to be outdoors. After all, think of all the random nature items that can be collected on the soccer field!

Airplane!

Addy is on the move!

Cally gets her turn to cross the field!

I could hardly believe how Addy took over her team during this huddle. She told them that they all had to do their best and that they could do a good job. It was really sweet and it made me realize how grown up a 4 year old can be.

Husker Day!!!

When I brought the girls' clothes down stairs Addy immediately know it was Husker Day. I am hoping we brainwash the girls enough so that they will stay close to home and attend UNL for college. So far our plan is working pretty well. :)

Pretty in pink...

Another first for Addy, ballet class! Addy had the best time, she was excited to show off some of her new moves. The highlight of the class for me was when Addy walked over to one of her friends and her mother and said, 'excuse me can we invite Lilly over for a play date?'. It was so cute because Addy is always asking me to invite her friends over and I guess I was just not getting the job done.

This was Addy's chosen pose. I guess she has been watching Angelina Ballerina! Side note, there are only like two names in that class, Lilly and Addy. Seriously, half the students in that class were named Addy and Lilly. I told Addy and the teacher they could use her full name to lessen some of the confusion. Clever enough, Addy's full name rhymes with ballerina. :)

While the cat is away....

Addy started her final year of preschool today. We were all pretty excited about today. Addy was thrilled to return to the classroom and see her friends and make new ones.

I was looking forward to some one-on-one time with Cally Bear!

Cally Bear had other things on her mind, like, hurry up and play with Addy's prized zou-zou pet!

Here is our proud student on her way home from school. I can't believe next year she will be in all-day kindergarten!
