My own little parrot...

Addy moved up to Brownies from Daisys this year and I am her troop's co-leader. By default, Cally gets to be a junior Brownie and my helper and as such she gets lots of great exposure to wonderful things. Wonderful things like the vocabulary of first, second and third graders (our troop has 1st also, different than most). For instance, while taking attendance one girl chose not to respond with the more traditional and probably boring, "here" and instead chose to shout, 'butt checks!". Cally did not blink and gleefully shouted out "butt checks!" when the next name was called! Lovely! But I will say she said it quite clearly, so her labors in speech therapy are proving worthwhile!

Field trip day!

Addy's class had their field trip this week! I happily moved around my running schedule so that Cally and I could join her class for lunch and some play time. Who wants to run 11 miles in on and off 'rain/snow' anyway?
Cally loved playing with the modeling clay. It was really tough to work with so we didn't make anything in the end. It was fun though!
Addy and her buddy (he is very sweet and cute!) ran around one of the exhibits trying to solve a mystery. The mystery was who was tearing up paper and leaving it all over the exhibit. Great mystery after all! It is probably be same mysterious person who leaves stuff discarded randomly at my house and car! ;)

The last pic is of our hail storm on Tuesday night. It was nuts, the ground was covered with hail stones until late morning the next day. Our siding and roof definitely took some hits but luckily our cars were both in the garage. One deductible is better than two I guess!

Well, well, well look who's posting!

Well, apparently these blog posts don't just write themselves! ;) I need to be more realistic with my blogging goals. In the past my goal was to get 15 posts up a month but with both girls in school for all or part of the day that is just not going to happen. Failing to meet that goal has made me avoid the blog which is just silly and makes me more than a little sad! So, my new more attainable goal will be to publish 4-5 posts a month. A nice once a week gig. :)

We had a very busy March. Cally turned 4 and we once again partied hard together. :) Addy had her first oral presentation in school (she did fabulous, I am so proud of her!). We had great visits with family and lots of wonderful memories were made.

Our sweet Caroline enjoying her special day as the birthday girl! Cally had a great time, she had her classmates over for her party and everything went very nicely. :) Cally is such a little darling, every day she surprises us with her cleverness.

Here Addy is shamelessly getting Grandma hooked on plants vs zombies (or something like that..). Addy is a growing up so quickly and amazes me with what a hard worker she is.

A good buddy, Addy and Ollie await the start of the Easter hunt at a local park. The kids all had a great time and the weather was nice too! We had a great Easter holiday!
