How Tall this Fall?

Once again we made our trek to the huge pumpkin patch near our house. It is really a fall festival of fun! In years past we have always gotten lucky and had warm weather for our day at the patch, but this year 54 degrees and a bit of a breeze was the best we could do. At least there was no rain!

Our traditional picture. Too bad the ground is so unlevel, but they are cute to look at year after year.

Here we are waiting for the train.

Riding the car was one of the things Addy remembered from last year. These things make me so nervous but we all had a good time and there were no crashes...

Addy was so excited to ride a pony again this year. She was assigned the cute little brown pony by the guy working the ride. The pony was very cute and small, which I appreciated.

Here is the big white pony Addy insisted on riding. To the left you can see the little brown pony she had previously ridden. I was a bit of a wreck watching Addy up high on this 'pony'!

Giddy up!

Jumping into the hay was another highlight of the trip for Addy!

Weee!

Seven months old and still crashing at the 'rents!

The days with a baby can be really long but all the smiles and giggles more than make up for it. Every day brings something new in Cally's development. Lately Cally has taken to figuring out some sort of locomotion. She kind of throws her body so she is facing where she wants to go. From there she will move to a crawling position and pivot her body around and then sit up again. She repeats this again and again, eventually centimeter by precious centimeter Cally is closer to her goal. Each child discovers their own path and Cally is already searching hers out.

Cally is currently on the mend from her first set of ear infections. Unfortunately Cally's digestive system is no closer to maturing than it was months ago. I am still living on a very restricted diet and have had no luck adding foods back in. Something tells me Cally will be in the 50% of children who do not outgrow MSPI by a year. As challenging as living on a very limited diet can be, I know how lucky we are to have Cally and her general great health.

The following pictures are of Cally's desk. It is where she bangs out most of her important work.

This (if you haven't notice already!) is Cally's favorite pose.

Addy and Cally are great playmates!

One more pretty smile. :)

Stage 2 emergency!

APB: My camera is missing! Ack! I am sure it will turn up, I downloaded photos on Saturday night/Sunday sometime. On Monday I only made it to the Dr.'s office and pharmacy so it really can't be too far. I have searched the house and drilled the usual suspects (Jiffy did not have it hidden away despite Addy's claims)but no dice. So in the meantime I am charging the batteries in our big old Sony and should be back with photos soon. Lets all hope that Cally doesn't sprout off the first 56 digits of pi anytime in the next hour or so. Well I guess I could always use the camcorder for that...

Halloween Bash!

Addy's great buddies Gabby and Karina (with the help of their parents) throw a wonderful Halloween Bash. This year on top of the yummy spooky treats there was a haunted castle for the kids to explore!

A morning at the gym

One of the local gymnastic gyms has an open preschool playtime once a week for a couple of hours. The girls and I went this past week and a romping good time was had by all.

Grr, I am a Cally Bear!

Addy got to bounce on the very cool trampolines.

Addy loved swimming in the big foam pit.

Cally practiced her standing skills, poor thing was missing her nap but still enjoyed herself.

A shopping pro!

Grocery shopping is one of my least favorite household chores to do. Growing up on military bases I (and probably every other military brat) called the base commissary the comisery. The other day the girls and I were out and about and had a quick trip to make to the grocery store. On the drive to the store Addy was telling me all about these little-sized carts that she wanted to push, she said they were Addy-sized.

Addy had to get the hang of pushing the cart. Maybe next time she will not be so quick to laugh when I knock a display down with the cart! ;)

Look closely at the cart, do you see (what I went to the store for) my potatoes and rice? Nope, I didn't either!

Addy had to rearrange the groceries, she is so much like David!

All in a day's work!

A morning at the museum

Our favorite children's museum has a special preschool playtime once a week. This week it was construction themed and Addy got a chance to help build stools. Addy was pretty interested in watching the students build a stool, I even caught her taking notes.

It is always fun to practice driving skills. Addy is a great back seat driver, she is always telling David to slow down. Well Addy and the State troopers are always telling David to slow down.

Here Addy is mastering the fine art of face painting. David is also teaching her to make balloon animals, any day she will get the call to join the big top.

Cally got a chance to bond with Lexi. It was neat to see Cally with another little one. Cally and Lexi have different personalities, Lexi is very mellow and laid back, Cally not so much. I think David and I have an interesting time ahead for us. ;)

Snow!!!

I have lived in areas prone to lots of snow before but I think October 10th is the earliest I have ever seen this much snow.

Addy was pretty upset at my snowman. She did not want to hear my explanation about the moisture content of the snow (low) and how it would not form balls. Addy was pretty sure Daddy could have done a better job.

Here Addy was proving to me that the snow would form balls...

You know I never noticed how freakishly big Addy's hands are...

Time for tumbling!

Addy has been on a tumbling hiatus since right before Cally was born. Finally she was able to return today! Addy was most excited about all the bouncing. I have to say a year has made a huge difference in Addy's skills as well as her ability to listen and follow along. We had a great class today! :)

Ch-changes...

Our little Cally Bear is growing up! She is almost 6.5 months old now and is over 18 pounds. We are trying to add pureed veggies to Cally's diet as well letting her experience the thrill of drinking water from a sippy cup.

Hanging out together, Addy and Cally.

No! I don't like this food business!

I like food! (You can see Addy's pumpkin painting hanging on her easel in the background.)

What is this cup?

Boy, big sisters are great teachers!

Where would I be without Addy?

Ah, yes now I have mastered the cup!
