Easter-revisited!

We had a wonderful time at Aunt Chris and James' home for Easter this year. It was fantastic to see so much family as well as seeing everyone so happy!

The View from Cally's World!

T-Ball!!

Addy can really hit the ball. This picture was taken after she missed her coach-pitched balls. But this was her first game and the sun was in her eyes. Hitting off the tee was good enough!

Cally clowning around! Imagine that!
We have had a very busy spring. Addy has T-ball, soccer and dance on top of her normal school schedule. Oh and throw a little Girls Scouts in too! Crazy, I had no idea what I was getting us into! Next year, Cally will be old enough to partake in the madness. ;)

Our Sweet Bear!

Somehow, Cally is always hanging off of one of us. Seriously, at least 23 hours a day. I will be so lonesome when she heads off to preschool next year!

More soccer!

At soccer today the local high school soccer coach and players came and hosted a clinic for the 6 and under teams. Addy said she liked it except that it lasted too long. Cally whole heartily agreed.

They practiced dribbling around a large field. Addy looked pretty good and seemed to enjoy the games.

Addy was playing a crab during the clinic. They started with about a dozen crabs (Addy included) and by the end all the kids were crabs. The game was especially cute when the high school coach and players had the kids use their pinchers.

After the clinic the kids went back to their usual practice/scrimmage fields and scrimmaged for about a half an hour. Addy definitely showed some improvement and went after the ball a few more times than last time, but she saved her hustling for when it was her turn to rotate out of the game and when it was time to line up for post-game snacks! :)

Perfect weather for a little kite flying...

While Addy was napping one Saturday afternoon, David and Cally took one of the kites out for a little fun. Cally was very irked that she didn't get a chance to fly the kite solo. I think she would have been equally upset had she gotten the opportunity and lost the kite to the wind. There are some battles that just can not be won. ;)

Kitty cuddles and nap time!

It has only taken Bandit 5 and a half years, but she has finally accepted the fact that the girls are here to stay...

Poor Cally! She does her very best to keep up with Addy, but some days she just can't quite make it.

Fun times with Grandma!

We were lucky enough to have Grandma (our long distance Grandma!) visit for a whole week! We had lots of fun and can't wait to do it again. The highlight of the trip might have been that Grandma did not get Addy's scarlet fever! How awful would that have been?! Thank you, Grandma!! We miss you!!

Spring Soccer!

Poor Addy, she was such a trooper, but she was suffering from the start of scarlet fever. Saturday morning at soccer she had a low-grade fever and less than her normal zip. Addy played hard and due to injuries and other reasons she often had to play both rotations during their 30 minute game. Addy was rusty (she hasn't played soccer in a year!) but she made me proud!!

Going for the goal!!

There are six kids on her team, which is a great number for her age group. Hopefully, I shrunk Addy's shirt in the wash and it will be a better fit next Saturday! I love that in this picture it looks like her team has just two sizes of kids.

Cally was anxious to get out and play soccer too. Next year she will be old enough to play locally, and another year of growth will be good for Cally. But in the mean time, Cally was a fantastic cheerleader for Addy. Cally even tried to confuse the other team by throwing Addy's soccer ball into the game at random points.

A 3rd Birthday Party-Bear style!!

These pictures are a tad out of order. We had Cally's birthday party the day after her actual birthday, but these pictures were on my camera and I have been very slow about getting them downloaded. Thanks for bearing with me! ;)

I love this series of shots. The kids decided to tear the wrapping paper into confetti size pieces and throw them on the birthday girl. Cally accepted her fate pretty matter of fact-ly, after all it is her birthday, of course she should have paper thrown on her! ;)
It is hard to see in this picture, but Cally is grinning and bearing it in anticipation of the big throw!

Whew!!!

Cally loved it and the rest of the kids all took a turn getting it thrown on them. After a while, the kids got bored of the game and everyone helped pick it up! Now that is MY kind of a party! ;)

Cally's party went really well. We had snacks, cupcakes and a craft activity. Oh and we even had homemade frilly party hats and balloon flower clusters! (Those are thanks to pinterest of course!)

So not ready for this!

Addy, Addy, Addy!!! Addy is such a sweet girl, a friend to everyone and is usually the silliest in the room. How is my little Addy trading flowers with a boy down the street?? No, I mean, really how did it happen?? Fragrant lilacs in a beautiful blue vase, well I guess life could be worse!

Cally's Stats!

We were in the middle of changing our Doctor(s) and in the end we voyaged back to Lincoln for Cally's 3 year well check. I have to say it was a very bittersweet decision, totally necessary, but still a hard one to make. Cally's only concern during the drive was catching up on her sleep after a very busy weekend!
Our Cally Bear! Cally's check up went great! Cally is petite, but she is tracking perfectly along her growth curves.

Cally's special day!!

Cally's third birthday was a fabulous day for us all! Both Addy and David had the day off so we headed to our favorite zoo for a great morning of exploring.

Next up was the girls' favorite play arcade restaurant for lunch. Cally and Addy scored pretty well with the tickets and were excited to choose their prizes.

After lunch and 'gaming' we headed to our local Barnes and Nobles, where thanks to their free kids card program, Cally enjoyed a birthday treat on the house.

I don't have pictures to share but for dinner we were invited to Molly's house for a delicious fajita dinner. Could Cally have had a better day?!?!

One for the record!!

One humongous worm!

This is how Cally brings her helmet to me so I can help her get it on correctly.
