Christmas sneak peek

We celebrated an abridged Christmas morning today due to our crummy blizzard. The girls had an insanely good time tearing open the gifts and eating the paper. Well Cally enjoyed eating the paper, Addy chowed down on the candy inside her blue airplane.

Santa was sew busy. Addy's babies love their dog bones and cat bed with blanket.

This picture was taken after Addy's preschool program on the 15th. I was juggling two cameras and Cally during the program so I don't have any great pictures to show of the actual program. But this is still a nice reminder of Addy's first program.


Here is our 2009 family Christmas shot. Cally was pretty excited by all of the hustling and camera flashing going on. We were limited in the number of shots we took because David really wasn't supposed to be lifting anyone/thing over 8 pounds. But this was our first shot so it wasn't too bad.

9 months!

In honor of Cally's nine month birthday today, here is the video of her climbing her first stairs. Please be warned, the ending is startling, but no babies were harmed or concussed in the making of the video.

The Macaroni and King

We braved the winter weather and visited our local zoo this weekend. There were only a handful of other families there so we had the buildings pretty much to ourselves.

Cousinapoloza!!!

During Miranda and Oliver's recent visit we were able to corall the kids for a quick group shot. The age range for the cousins is nearly nine months to nearly 12 years so taking a group shot is not really a quick event.

An open letter to David's gall bladder

Thank you Mr. Gall bladder, without your penchant for developing stones we would have missed out on some fun days with David.

David and Addy were able to make and decorate sugar cookies during one of the long days of his recovery.




I was able to work on a craft project. This is a cloth toy bag that somehow morphed from a size large into a jumbo size while I was creating it.


Here though is a shot that really shows what David was able to accomplish during his convalescence.

A baby named Suh!

David is lobbying to change Cally Bear's nickname to Suh. He says she is as disruptive as the Heisman Finalist and Defensive player of the year (if I have the titles wrong, please do not bother to correct me). Addy is not nearly as proud of Cally's accomplishments as David is. Addy spends a lot of her time dictating to Cally what is ok and what is not ok. Here Cally is redecorating the fridge. This used to be our showcase for Addy's every scribble and scratch and I am not sure Addy appreciates Cally's renegade talents.

A Sunday Visit!

Last week we made it up north to visit David's family. Addy and Cally had a great time playing with their cousins. Here are a few pictures of our wonderful visit.

A Christmas Miracle!

When Addy was 5 months old she sat for a picture with Santa Claus. She screamed in the poor old man's face but still a photo was taken. In the two years following that initial picture, Addy has been unwilling to sit for anymore photos or even share with Saint Nick what she wanted to find under our Christmas tree. This year, all that changed and Addy was very excited to sit on Santa's lap and tell him what she expected him to bring her. It might benefit Santa to have his hearing checked though. When Addy told Santa she wanted an airplane, he asked, 'a hairbrush?'. I am unsure whether Santa was questioning how I style Addy's hair (in Santa's defense and mine for that matter, she DOES need a trim) or whether Santa plays into the stereotypical gender roles for children. Either way, Addy is quite clear that she wants a blue airplane filled with candy from Santa Claus. Oh and in case you are wondering, the candy should be rectangular-shaped and have a red wrapper. Maybe Kit-Kats?

Paint by numbers

Addy loves to paint, normally her art work is pretty abstract and rainbow colored. I decided to mix things up and draw an outline to help guide her work. I am pretty lousy at even outlining a basic anything so any oddities in Addy's finished masterpieces are my own. ;)

8 months have come and passed....

Our little Cally Bear is already 8 months old! Well, I am little behind, so really she is closer to 8.5 months old. To catch up, here is a post just for her!

Cally says with the holiday season upon us she has to work overtime at her desk. She promises that with all the extra work she is busy banging out, our holidays will be full of good cheer!


Cally applauds all of Addy's crazy antics. Addy has a whole routine developed where she falls backwards to get Cally to laugh. Cally is very appreciative of good old slap-stick comedy. :)


When Addy is at preschool, Cally is very happy to fill in and help me with the chores. Here, Cally is demonstrating the proper way to fold a baby wash cloth.

No matter how busy we are, there is always time for a little monkeying around!
